LO2: Planning a multi- page website (purpose, audience)

The purpose of my chosen website is too inform the British public on the importance of helping to conserve the bee population. They will need to be drawn into the website by perhaps having an interesting web design or a catchy name to help make the website seem unique to the current viewer otherwise a person browsing on the web may not take much notice if the website does not stand out from others like it. They will need to know all the facts, in order to make the viewer take interest and care about the cause we are promoting, they will need to be given all the interesting facts relating to the topic and the effect the issue will have on themselves and on the UK itself. They need to be given options on how they can help with the issue, if the website is not giving advice on how the problem can be solved otherwise a viewer may not take much notice as they will have no power to help the issue at hand.

I believe that my target audience will firstly be for both genders as this issue is not a gender specific topic and both can take interest and help with the problem. The age group I believe will be from the ages 18-60 and of both genders as people in this age gap have a  broader knowledge of the world and are more likely not to overlook the issue and will most likely take an interest to it. The location I believe not too be that important as this problem will effect people all around the country and everyone in every city is able to help with this issue so I do not believe that this is bound to a specific place.

LO1 analysing a social media website

This is am example of a social media website, the following example is off the social media site Twitter which can be found at https://twitter.com/login?lang=en. The purpose of this website is to allow its users to post photos, videos and discuss many topics on the website. Every year millions of more people create a twitter account showing the immense popularity of the site. I believe the target audience to be teens and middle aged people a some content can be explicit for younger and older viewers.

LO1 analysing a streaming website

This is an example of a downloadable (streaming) website, this example is of Amazon prime which can be found at https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/prime/pipeline/landing?ie=UTF8&*Version*=1&*entries*=0. The purpose of this website is to allow its subscribers to download a variety of music, TV programmes and films. There is a huge library of content available drawing in viewers to revisit the website. I believe that the targeted audience for this site is a wide variety of people who love any form of media as there is so much content that there's something for everyone.

LO1 analysing a E-commerce website

This is an example of an E-Commerce website, this example is of Lacoste which can be found at http://www.lacoste.com/gb. the purpose of this website is to allow a viewer to browse the variety of products on offer and then give you the option to reserve a product in store or deliver to your home. the site itself is very easy to navigate as it has a easy to navigate site where a specific item of clothing can be found extremely easily and orders can be placed without delay. The overall user experience is quite enjoyable as the site itself is nice to be on as it has an appropriate style and layout to fit into the theme of the brand and the intended age demographic.

LO1 analysing advertising website

This is an example of an advertising website, it is Cineworld which can be found at http://www1.cineworld.co.uk. The purpose of this website is for anyone wanting to watch a certain film they can view the variety of films on offer at the cinema in order to make a decision on what film they may want to see and then can then book tickets and go watch the film but it also offers advertising for the films it has on offer such as trailers, posters and reviews and a quick synopsis of the film in question. I believe the target audience is aimed at any regular movie goers as it offers a good service, easy navigation and in-depth reviews of many films. the flow of information is also really is to follow and isn't cluttered allowing for an enjoyable user experience.

LO1 analysing info website

This is an example of an informative website, it is the BBC news website which can be found at
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news. The purpose of this website is to inform its viewers on local and globe news. The website offers many types of media for the viewer to view such as photos and videos and keeps the newest stories at the front of the home page. It is also very easy to navigate with well structured navigation bars. The user experience is very good as it offers interesting stories for many different age demographics but also allows people to read a full story with detailed writing and formal language to create a fun to read post.  This benefits the BBC  as it makes there website much more view able as there is a much more enjoyable user experience due to the easy navigation and the interesting stories. I believe the target audience to be for people of 14 and up. The website needs to allow easy access to the information it does this by having tabs that are clear to read and follow.
